REGINA, SK., October 2, 2023 – Avana, a leading developer and owner of multi-family homes in Western Canada, is proud to announce its inclusion in the prestigious Report on Business Canada’s Top Growing Companies 2023 ranking.

Decided by The Globe and Mail, this annual ranking celebrates Canada’s boldest entrepreneurial businesses based on their impressive revenue growth over three years. Avana’s exceptional growth earned it a spot on Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, which was announced on September 29, 2023.

Brent Sjoberg, President of Avana, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, saying, “We are honoured to be recognized once again as one of Canada’s top-growing companies and are proud to represent Saskatchewan on the national stage. We remain dedicated to breaking down barriers in the Canadian real estate industry and look forward to our continued growth and social impact as we continue to support the housing shortage in Canada.”

Program Overview: Report on Business Canada’s Top-Growing Companies

The Report on Business Ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies recognizes independent Canadian companies by their percentage of revenue growth over three years. For the 2023 ranking, growth rates are calculated from participating companies’ fiscal 2019 to 2022 revenues.

Participation in this prestigious program is voluntary, and companies are evaluated based on strict eligibility criteria. To be eligible, a company must:

  • Be headquartered in Canada with significant operations in the country.
  • Be Canadian-owned and independent, operating at arm’s length from related companies.
  • Be for-profit, in good standing, and have been in continuous operation and the same line of business from 2019 through 2022.
  • Have a minimum operating revenue of $2 million in its most recent fiscal year and $200,000 in the same period three years prior.

The ranking methodology calculates the three-year percentage growth of annual operating revenue, ensuring a level playing field for all participating companies.

Avana’s inclusion in the Report on Business Canada’s Top Growing Companies list recognizes its impressive growth and its commitment to providing safe, quality housing and positively impacting the communities it serves.
