Position Overview:
We are hiring an Information Technology (IT) Professional. The successful applicant will succeed in a fast-paced, progressive company, enjoy working with people in a team environment and strive for excellence. This is a full-time salary role to support Avana with day-to-day technological needs, onboarding, troubleshooting, and software management. The IT Professional must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced, progressive organization, along with a certificate, diploma, or degree in an IT field.
Key Responsibilities:

Work alongside the IT Manager to handle internal and external IT requests for Avana including, but not limited to:
- Hardware and software set-up and configuration.
- Dealing with third-party vendors and suppliers.
- Mitigating outages and technology errors.
- Ad hoc IT-related tasks. - Set up new and existing employees with the equipment, programs, and software required to succeed in their roles.
- Navigate ongoing technology needs for existing employees on an as-needed basis.
- Assist the IT Manager with tracking and securing IT assets such as phones, laptops, monitors, etc.

Manage the employee technology off-boarding process including, but not limited to:
- Removing email and technology access.
- Delegating emails to the appropriate parties.
- Changing passwords for accounts, hardware, and software.
- Resetting equipment and technology. - Assist with software issues, upgrades, and requests.
- Help the IT Manager to maintain Avana’s IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
- Train employees to use software and hardware; troubleshoot issues and provide technical support when needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Information Technology is required.
- Minimum two (2) years of proven experience in the field.
- Experience with networking, computer hardware, Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, SharePoint, Mac OS, iOS, and iCloud.
- Experience with Intune, Google Workspace, Monday.com, Yardi, Buildertrend, Adobe, databases, and programming are considered assets.
- Preference to work in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to excellence.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, with fantastic analytical, organizational and communications skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member or independently.
Compensation Package:
- Benefits: Dental and medical benefits package. 80% of the cost is covered by Avana. Option for employee to purchase disability and life insurance.
- Pension: The Pension Plan will commence in your second year of employment. 2% of salary matched in year two, 3% of salary matched in year three, 4% of salary matched in year four and 5% of salary matched in year five.
- Vacation Entitlement: 20 business days per year. Must be accumulated prior to taking them.
- Annual Bonus: Opportunity to earn up to 10% of salary as an annual bonus.
- Parental Leave: Inclusive of four (4) months of salary top-up, up to a maximum $15,000 total, with ongoing benefits based on the terms stated above. Pension will not apply for the duration of the period of leave. If an employee provides resignation within the 24 months following the paternal leave return date, the total amount of the salary top-up will be repaid to Avana.
- Probation Period: The probation period is 90 days from the start date.
- Criminal Record Checks are required for all Avana employees prior to being hired. This is to be obtained at your expense and will not be reimbursed by the Employer.
