Position Overview:
We are seeking a Web Development and Marketing Specialist with experience in market research to join our team. The successful candidate will monitor SEO, web analytics, and metrics, ensure our websites function fully, update product listings on our website and other platforms, and assist in idea generation for digital efforts to enhance our resident experience.
The Web Development and Marketing Specialist will work with the Creative Lead to conceptualize and design website-specific collateral, adhere to a strategy that aligns with each consumer profile, research current benchmark trends and audience preferences, and conduct market research to help guide our web-focused resident experience strategy.
The successful candidate will collaborate with other teams to ensure up-to-date information on various websites and stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in UI design, web development tools, and applications. With oversight from the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Web Development and Marketing Specialist will help implement our web-focused resident experience strategy to align with business goals.
Additionally, the Web Development and Marketing Specialist will conduct market research and present findings to the Manager, Marketing and Communications to inform strategic decision-making. This includes monitoring industry trends, competitor analysis, and resident behaviour to identify areas for improvement and optimize our digital efforts. The successful candidate will generate regular reports on website traffic, user engagement, and conversion rates using tools such as Google Analytics and other web analytics platforms. These reports will help the Manager, Marketing and Communications to evaluate the effectiveness of our digital marketing campaigns and make data-driven decisions to improve our overall marketing strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor SEO, web analytics and metrics, setting professional objectives and reporting on ROI.
- Ensure websites function at full capacity, including Google search optimization and SEO.
- Update all listings on our website and all other listing platforms.
- Assist in idea generation for digital efforts.
- Work collaboratively with Creative Lead to conceptualize and design any website-specific collateral.
- Adhere to a strategy that aligns with each consumer profile.
- Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences.
- Provide reports and recommendations on industry trends, competitor analysis, and resident behaviour.
- Aid in creating and implementing a resident experience strategy, with oversight from the Manager, Marketing and Communications, to align with business goals.
- Collaborate with other teams, like our Residents, New Developments and Human Resources Divisions, to ensure up-to-date website information.
- Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in UI design, web development tools, and applications.
- Create new website pages and optimize them for use.
- Ensure our website is optimized to a high technical standard.
- Manage all aspects of the backend of the website.
- Use project management tools such as Monday.com.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in digital marketing and web development.
- Proven experience in web development, web design, and SEO optimization.
- Strong understanding of SEO, web analytics, and metrics.
- Proficient in GA4 and other web analytics tools.
- Knowledge of UI design principles and web development tools and applications.
- Experience with WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development tools.
- Experience using Apple products and Google Workspace is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative problem solver with a positive attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in UI design, web development tools, and applications.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Compensation Package:
- Benefits: Dental and medical benefits package. 80% of the cost is covered by Avana. Option for employee to purchase disability and life insurance.
- Pension: The Pension Plan will commence in your second year of employment. 2% of salary matched in year two, 3% of salary matched in year three, 4% of salary matched in year four and 5% of salary matched in year five. Avana’s matched portion vests 12 months after the first contribution.
- Vacation Entitlement: 20 business days per year. Must be accumulated prior to taking them.
- Annual Bonus: Opportunity to earn up to 10% of salary as an annual bonus.
- Parental Leave: Inclusive of four (4) months of salary top-up, up to a maximum $15,000 total, with ongoing benefits based on the terms stated above. Pension will not apply for the duration of the period of leave. If an employee provides resignation within the 24 months following the paternal leave return date, the total amount of the salary top-up will be repaid to Avana.
- Probation Period: The probation period is 90 days from the start date listed.
- COVID-19 Protocol: Avana requires employees to be fully vaccinated. Exemptions may be made for anyone who has a confirmed medical diagnosis with a doctor’s note.
- Criminal Record Checks are required for all Avana employees prior to being hired. This is to be obtained at your expense and will not be reimbursed by the Employer.
